Patriots backup quarterback Matt Cassel has stepped into big shoes left behind by Tom Brady's season-ending injury in the first game of the NFL this year. After two games Cassel has been holding his own. Nothing spectacular, but good enough to give the Patriots and their fans a 2-0 start. Prior to this season however, the last time Cassel started as QB was for the Chatsworth High School Chancellors in 1999 as a 17-year-old who looked like this at the time:
I passed by this street billboard today that was made from turf and advertising Monday Night Football on ESPN. It actually made me pause to take a closer look and snap a photograph of it. Nicely done, NFL.
I wonder how long before someone splashes some paint on it.

Sighted a lot of shiny, stiff, newly purchased Giants hats on the way to work this morning. Bandwagons were bursting at the seams. Relatedly, the next season of the NFL will be interesting as no one will have a bigger monkey on his back than Tony Romo.
