2nd: The Face of Defeat

Sandy Nicholson's "2nd: The Face of Defeat" is a collection of poignant photographs of people who finished in second, or in other words, as first losers in seemingly every contest or competition you can imagine.

It was a tie and the word I got wrong was 'bungalow', b-u-n-g-a-l-o-w. But I spelt it b-u-n-g-a-l-o. I'm going to remember that for a really long time. Then I got 'galore'. I was so proud of myself, but also kind of sad because just one word knocked me out.

Photo Art: Dumped

I know this is a bit dated, but: For her project "Dumped," Brooklyn artist Meg Wachter photographs her friends as they are getting dumped with liquid-y edible things. In this interview, Meg comments, "I also recently learned from a friend (who is a sex blogger) that these photos are huge in the fetish community of 'sploshing.'"

This video of the shoot is also entertaining!

I want to do a similar one where I, the artist, get to punch my friends. Yea, who wants to volunteer?
