One of my all time favorite scenes from Ricky Gervais' Extras is his desperate character's conversation with Patrick Stewart (playing himself), a scene which has now been mashed up with Bambi into this brilliant video. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2WWeq9-QKA&fmt=18]

This installation by Banksy is currently showing at the Museum of Art in Ft. Lauderdale.
Back in 2006 photographer Jonathan Haeber sneaked into Steve Jobs' abandoned mansion.
Jobs bought the mansion in 1984, the year the Mac was released, and lived there with no furniture for almost a decade. But he hasn’t lived there for nearly 10 years, and he now wants to raze the house and build a smaller, greener dwelling on the land.
This installation by Lauris Paulus reminds me of the following scene from "The 40 Year Old Virgin."
Chris Jordan created this amazing large scale reproduction of a watercolor painting by Sarah Waller as part of his series "Running the Numbers II."
Depicts 270,000 fossilized shark teeth, equal to the estimated number of sharks of all species killed around the world every day for their fins.
I like this photo posted by Sasha Frere Jones, the pop music critic of The New Yorker.
Charlie Bucket will be displaying this installation at Maker Faire from May 30-31 in San Mateo, California. It starts a little slow but the payout is worthwhile:

This installation is found in Klenova, Czech Republic.
At some point in the life of the building, caretakes decided, curiously to restucco only part of the facade, leaving the sides, back, and upper levels unrenovated. The cartoon-like scissors and dotted line draw attention to the division that presumably was intended to be overlooked, but now announce a humorous urgency to the building's need for restoration.
I like this paint-by-numbers piece created by Texas-born New York artist Trey Speelge available for purchase at 20x200.
This work is a vintage paint-by-number that I have reconstituted by enlarging it, silkscreening it on canvas, mixing a fresh palette of 60 colors, blocking out the text and painting in everything but.

Spring famously means tulip season is in full bloom in the Netherlands producing an explosion of colors.
Currently showing at Charlie James Gallery in Los Angeles is Steve Lambert's exhibition "Everything You Want, Right Now."
I enjoy the pop art of Ron English--he's also the artist behind the composite image of Obama and Lincoln.
And one of his more recent pieces:
[vimeo=http://vimeo.com/4403063] Artist Ellie Harrison created this vending machine that dispenses a bag of chips each time news referring to the recession appears in the headline of BBC News RSS feed.
This is currently showing until the end of May at Viewpoint Gallery at Plymouth College of Art. Bring this to New York City!
