The Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Step aside E=MC squared, because scientists at the Royal Society of Chemistry have figured out the formula (see above) for the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

...the perfect slice can be made by melting 50 grams of sliced hard cheese, such as cheddar, on a slice of white bread, 10mm thick, under the grill. The cheese on toast should sit at a distance of 18cm from the heat source – which in our grill was at a temperature of 115oC – and needs to cook for four minutes to achieve the perfect consistency and taste.

No word yet on what George Foreman's thoughts are on this.

The Ultimate Burger

Eater created this Frankensteinian beast of a burger made from some of New York City's most famous and popular burgers:

From top to bottom: Minetta Tavern's Black Label Burger, Bill's Bar & Burger's Classic Burger, Shake Shack Shackburger, DBGB's Piggie, Frenchie, and Yankee burgers, and Ai Fiori's White Label Burger.

Sadly it's missing three of my favorites: Corner Bistro, Spotted Pig, and Burger Joint.

Ready to Go Whenever You Are

Most people know that there are notations to the Scriptures on In-N-Out packaging. On the Double-Double burger wrapper, it lists "Nahum 1:7" which points to the verse, "The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."

Lettuce reflect on this knowledge.

Weekend Update

On Saturday after working out at the gym with my buddy Tony, we walked over to Rai Rai Ken for an early dinner of ramen. One of the options on the menu under "extra toppings" included...butter. So naturally I tried ramen for the first time with butter.

I Can't Sleep Without a Piece of Chocolate in My Mouth.

From an interesting interview with chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten in Wall Street Journal:

I can't sleep without a piece of chocolate in my mouth. I know it's not good for my teeth, but I've gone to sleep with chocolate since I was four years old, and I can't go to sleep without it. I let it melt in my mouth, and I have sweet dreams, every night.

As David Cho said this guy might living the ideal wife:

  • Korean wife
  • Big kitchen
  • Jar of gummy bears a day
  • Piece of chocolate before bed
  • Gets to eat Jean Georges food everyday

Respek.
