Update: And finally the official (amusing) music video with the accompanying visual references for "Ode to Murray Hill!"

Manhattan neighborhood Murray Hill, or as the New York Observer called it "Murray Hell," conveniently located generally between East 29th and 38th streets, has a particular reputation among locals for its homogeneous uniformity.
The stereotype runs something like this: Arriving in the City for jobs in the predictable areas of finance and PR, recently graduated affluent coeds--hair blown brunettes in skinny jeans and frat boys in seersucker shorts--from Syracuse and Penn swarm into dorm like luxe apartments (Windsor Court, Apt. 11F) and spend their nights at local bars such as Joshua Tree.
I'm surprised it took this long, but there's finally a song that pays homage to this neighborhood and its denizens, titled "Ode to Murray Hill" by DJ Lubel.
My world is wide open and I'm free as a bird
But I've got to live on 34th from Park to Third.
U Mich, Emory, Cornell--If you didn't go to one of these,
Go away because you're poor!
Listen to the song here.
Confession: Although my residency there was a short New York minute, my first apartment in this city out of college was in Murray Hill, the Habitat to be exact. My roommate was a Bear Stearns banker from Penn.
