All You Need is Love in 156 Countries

A conversation earlier today with Chris reminded me of this video performance sponsored by Starbucks to raise awareness for AIDS in Africa. Musicians from 156 countries were invited on December 7, 2009 at 1:30 PM GMT to play "All You Need is Love" in unison. The bottom right corner of the video displays the country. I bet that jerk Matt has been to every single one of these countries. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh7D2g5v-Sg]

I love the John Lennon hippie lookalikes performing on behalf of Japan. God, I want to visit that country so bad. And the South Koreans put on a PRODUCTION. SOB, I'm so proud.

This video is cheesy, but like cheese it's tasty. They need to show this video before the start of every International summit or UN meeting. Maybe it'll coax a few peace agreements here and there.

James Ha

James Ha "body-beatboxing" Usher's "Caught Up" during some downtime at JFK airport after his flight got canceled. If my flight was canceled, my exciting video would be of me probably tweeting to complain about my flight being canceled. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbWSx7p-c54]

Why Asian Kids are the Cutest

Reason #9. They pull off a killer Jason Mraz cover on an ukulele which makes it cool, even if you don't like Jason Mraz. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErMWX--UJZ4&feature=player_embedded]

I know this video has circulated around to every corner of the Internet and posted on every blog. I was so resistant to this for so long and I don't remember who finally compelled me to watch it, but I'm posting it here as a sort of PSA or act of community service for that ONE remaining person who might not have seen this yet. Turn up your speakers, enjoy and if you aren't Asian then feel that pang of jealousy that your future child will never be quite as cute as mine (Spoiler: Because I'm Asian). I win. The End.

Have Yourself a Depressing Little Christmas

The original lyrics of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" painted a rather bleak picture before it was altered at the request of Judy Garland and later Frank Sinatra to its now more upbeat tone. The first draft went like this:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, it may be your last, Next year we may all be living in the past Have yourself a merry little Christmas, pop that champagne cork, Next year we will all be living in New York.

No good times like the olden days, happy golden days of yore, Faithful friends who were dear to us, will be near to us no more.

But at least we all will be together, if the Fates allow, From now on we'll have to muddle through somehow. So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

How do you like them apples, Charlie Brown?
