In the Sunday round of the Ryder Cup, Tiger Woods hit this errant chip shot directly at photographer Mark Pain whose camera captured the perfect moment. It's perfect, not because he snapped the golf ball flying straight at his camera, but for getting a photo of the fan on the right with an amazing mustache and smoking a cigar. And this is how a meme is born.
Have a great week everyone.
Professional Australian surfer Claire Bevilacqua going fancy on the waves or however you say it in surfing lingo.

Interesting ESPN article on the early history of the now video game behemoth EA's Madden NFL. They originally wanted Joe Montana. Instead they got coach Madden. Madden was later offered the option of purchasing EA shares at the IPO price when it went public. He turned it down.
From 1989 to 1999, EA's share price went from $7.50 to $70. Madden laughs. "That was the dumbest thing I ever did in my life."
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjawlRnYTHY&feature=player_embedded] Fantastic trick penalty kick by Spain's Ezequiel Calvente. It's on slow motion replay that its brilliance is revealed. Gooooaaaaal!!!
[vimeo=http://vimeo.com/8050122] Maybe it's the ghostly soundtrack, but this film recording of surfers catching monster waves in Maui evokes my simultaneous deep fear and paradoxic attraction to water and the ocean, which is magnified by my inability to swim (despite being able to during my younger years in the orphanage). I've always had this weird premonition that this will result in my eventual departure from this life someday.
Is it still a trompe l'oeil if what it looks like is actually not what it is and it is actually what it is not? That question aside, I want this match quality soccer ball silk screened with wood textures by Eric Quebral. Currently in pre-order status.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcNzphFJ8wU] Professional "pitch invader" Jimmy Jump gets tackled by security right as he tries to grab (or place a hat on it?) the World Cup trophy in today's final game between Spain and the Netherlands. ABC announcers mentioned this vaguely but I was mad they didn't show a clip. For providing this, I thank you YouTube.
The above replica of the World Cup trophy was seized at Colombia's Bogota airport after authorities discovered that it made with 24 pounds of cocaine. It was destined for a party being thrown by Paul the Oracle Octopus.
Paul the psychic octopus knew all along.
And unsurprisingly, the world's largest skateboard wipe out. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU1qSSZDPws]
