Katie Weisberger snapped this photo as a freshman at NYU's photography program when she was flying back from her home in Richmond, Virginia in April 2001. Following 9/11, she submitted her photo (Number 1621) to an "exhibit that would eventually comprise 5,690 images and travel the world" from which her quiet picture was the bestselling image.
