WSJ reports: Demand has spiked so much for the previously sold out red dress that oldest daughter Malia Obama wore on election night that the dress's label Biscotti Inc., after being "bombarded with more calls from retailers wanting to order the style," is rushing to make more of this $110 dress in time for the holidays. Unlike the past couple administrations, I think it's an easy prediction to say that the attractive and casually stylish First Family will be trend setters.

Check out Nnamdi's new protective case for his recent iPhone. Interesting choice, brah.
Guy walks into the Soho Paul Smith shop (one of my favorite brands if not wayy beyond my pauper budget) and spots one of his designs he posted on Flickr....on a $235 shirt in the store.
I don’t actually feel wronged. I do feel that some designer for the Paul Smith brand committed an embarrassing act of laziness. This should not be excused and I imagine they will be dealt with accordingly. I don’t get a ton of blog traffic but I would be surprised if this didn’t eventually get back to the Paul Smith organization. And Mr. Smith, if you are reading this, Lance and I have always wanted to spend a week in London. Oh, and I am a 42L.
I'd be pissed, but I too would forgive in exchange for a trip to London plus a suit.

Update: It also reminds me of the album cover art for Wilco's Sky Blue Sky, which is very excellent. If you don't have it, I highly recommend you download it.
This is the scene I encountered this afternoon in Soho.
Uggs aren't going away. If anything you may see even more of them this winter than ever before if these lines outside of the Ugg store in Soho is any trend barometer.
Victoria Secret created a miracle bra bedazzled with "3,575 black diamonds, 117 certified 1 carat round diamonds, 34 rubies and finishes with 2 '100 carat' black diamond drops." And it can be all yours for $5,000,000. What recession? The closest most of you will ever get to this bra or this future wifey modeling it is this photo (not me though: just give me 2 more years):

These are dope snowboard boots from Nike, modeled after their popular Air Force 1 lineup. They make my Ride boots look like Sketchers. Oh Snap.
I want these:

Otto Cedeno gets interrogated by Julia Allison during Fashion Week. If it makes you feel any better Otto, I totally had no idea who this Fern Mallis chick was.

This is a great unexpected snapshot by The Sartorialist. As he wrote about this photo:
This shot was just fine until that bus drove by and blew up her dress....now it's perfect
This photo is a yes.
MRod here is a well known advocate of Crocs and as such, I am excited to announce that what Willis was talkin' about was Crocs. In other words, like other luminaries and titans of industry, Gary Coleman wears Crocs, too.
He also wears Canadians tuxedos as well, apparently.
I don't know what more evidence you doubters and haters need. The world of Croc wearers is a veritable Who's Who of the power elite.
[Thanks to Us Versus Them for this find!]
In addition to rock stars and French ministers, we can now add world class famous chefs, such as Mario Batali to the Croc Fan Club.
We scuttled away avoiding eye-contact with them until my girlfriend glimpsed a pair of bright orange crocs under the table. She firmly grasped my forearm and whispered,
“That’s Mario Batali.”
Me: “No way. Which one? Where?”
“The one in the orange crocs!”
What more validation do you people need??? Crocs are a YES. I heard Kanye, Marc Jacobs, and John Mayer have started wearing them as well. Allegedly.
