The cold weather today in New York City is AUDI this world.
The above frozen Audi was spotted recently on 2nd Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue
The MTA is now permitting love on the subways (or at least the L Train). That's great, but how about lower fares instead?
Downtown From Behind is a photo series of the backside of beautiful New Yorkers riding a bicycle. In other words, a great excuse to take photos of the backside of beautiful New Yorkers.

The first decade of the 21st century ended the way it began when I first moved to New York City 8 or so years ago - with an epic snow storm.
Traffic was moving so slowly I was able to stand in the middle of the street in Times Square and take this photo of the snow as it started to finally accumulate on the ground. I was walking home from KTown after I fulfilled my KTown jjigae craving.
New York City woke up to a lot of snow the next morning.
Couple nights later I met up with Ro and Jeff (yes, he's still searching for new pants). After eating delicious noodle soup, we walked to KTown for a "surprise" birthday party.
A surprise birthday party at karaoke, natch. Disclaimer: I swear this was not organized or suggested by me.
Pro Tip: Passionate hand gestures makes any song better.
This girl was getting at it!
And if the singing is good enough, people will dance to it. Even go back to back wit it.
AND front to front wit it.
And then git paid afterwards!
This is what alcohol can do to people later in the evening.
Few days later it was New Year's Eve! I met up with friends on the Upper East Side for some food and drinks. After the clock stuck midnight, I went back to my apartment where one of my friends was having a party. By the time I remembered I had my camera it was pretty late, and the girls had changed in to their sweats.
Sweats don't mean the celebration has to stop tho!
And the dancing!
And peace in the new year.
And...intergalactic thug peace signs?
The New Year: clean out the old and start anew...including tossing out that computer from 1994. Raise your hand if you remember using these floppy discs at one point in your life.
Couple weekends ago, I went to Melissa's annual holiday party at her apartment. I forgot my camera, but Melissa was good enough to share and let me post her pics here.
Christmas sweater for the liquor.
Party people keeping it classy.
I did some serious damage to this food by the time I left.
Joseph photobombing FTW.
I've been bad about the photo documenting part of this blog of mine (for the two of you that care). I'll be better about this in the second decade of the 21st century. In meantime here are a few photos from the past couple months of my life.
After a night of movie watching (Match Point, finally!) and drinking copious amounts of wine with my roommate, I got a text at 1 am from my buddy Andy summoning me to KTown. So I went. Of course eye glasses were required for entry into the restaurant.
We all look so composed, but I recall everyone being tipsy. The guys sitting at the table next to us gave us a bottle of sake before they left for some reason. (Props to Jackie for pics.)
Had dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant in Chelsea where Pooja, Munira and I gave our wedding gift to Lauren and Bob. I think they were happy with it. Finger snaps to Mun for finding such a lovely gift for us.
For some reason, on the ceiling in the rear of the restaurant they had this molded wave with Santas skiing on it. Bizarre and totally radical and bodacious of course.
I was really, really excited to discover that Munira was randomly carrying around Raisinets, which are pretty much my favorite thing in life.
And of course I was at karaoke later. Here's Mike and Tanya belting out a song. There was a third person in this photo who bolted as soon as she saw my camera.
This photo is a tale of four different expressions with Jay's on the far right being the stuff of nightmares.
Pooja, Munira, and Andy belting out a Broadway tune.
Jay (covers Creed), Lynda (Lady Gaga), and Ro (Fugees-ONE TIME).
Christian and his friend getting their duet on.
My camera hijacked by Ro and Tanya.
Later I went to the second half of Ayo's birthday party where in my drunken state I only thought to take one photo, which was of this one of Ansley and Chris demonstrating the proper technique for fake smiles.
A real life Qudditch tournament (you know, the "sport" played by wizards in "Harry Potter") took place in my neighborhood of Hells Kitchen recently.
Things that are funny about this picture to me:
1. They are (trying to) playing a game of "Qudditch." 2. Dude is wearing Under Armour gear and serious looking cleats. 3. Uncomfortable looking broom tucked in the junk region WHILE he is jumping in the air. 4. Getting tickled in the arm pit by opposing player (wizard?). 5. Goal is made from a hula hoop.
Village Voice chronicles a list of 50 reasons why it's good to live in New Yohk City! Some of my favorites:
44. The epic feeling you get running to catch a train and succeeding...just before the doors close.
43. Bored to Death. 30 Rock. SNL. And a million other things that film here and we love. RIP Law and Order.
34. There are almost 200 bars in the East Village alone.
26. Smart people are the norm, not the exception. (Which doesn't mean they're sane, but at least no one's boring.)
22. How easy it is to find doughnuts, pizza, Chinese food, or any other snack your drunken self desires at 4 a.m. Or to continue to drink. Responsibly!
5. We are, as a group, anti-fanny-pack as much as we are pro-gay-marriage. Hetero marriage, on the other hand, we can pretty much take or leave.
2. There is absolutely no reason to ever drink and drive.
Not on the list, but should be:
We have a solid K-Town and three Chinatowns. Our art museums and galleries. Botanica. Central Park and Union Square on the first hot day of the year. Three major airport hubs. I get older, the girls stay the same age.
[Thanks Ayo!]
While taking the subway back up to my apartment on Saturday night this past Halloween weekend (it was impossible to snag a cab), I spotted Wonder Woman nodding off on the R train. Her head was leaning closer and closer to the shoulder of the sleeping stranger next to her. After a few minutes, voila! After I snapped this photo, Wonder Woman's friend said, "You can't do that!"
My friend Cyrus and I asked "Why not?"
She replied, "You can't! Delete it."
"Why?"
"Because she's famous!"
As someone who always dreamed of living in New York City and was able to make that dream come true (cheesy and so Felicity of me, I know), there's something I really enjoy about watching the local news and hearing the weatherman give the condition and forecast for Central Park.
Truth in MTA announcements. For my readers who aren't familiar with NYC and our subways, the G train is the only train that doesn't run in Manhattan. It runs between Brooklyn and Queens...in theory.
[vimeo http://vimeo.com/11178250] Iron Man busts out some dance moves in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. YMMV.
Spotted this line of birds chilling out near my apartment building on my way home yesterday. It reminded me of the Pixar short film "For the Birds."
Last Thursday night, I went to a Facebook sponsored party for some advertising industry event. Rolando, Mike and I had fun with their photo booth.
This week is my final one at my current company. Its been a great opportunity, but I look forward to the next (exciting) chapter in my career and life. As Jay-Z said "I'm on to the next one."
