Antlers by Alexander Taylor appeals to my slightly rustic Alaskan aesthetic. This would be a good (and affordable) fit for my future bachelor pad.
In addition to the perfect weather, Sunday was quite excellent due to Mike, an old college buddy's visit. We had an action packed afternoon: beers by the pier, jaunt down the Highline, a stop at Standard's beer garden, appetizers at Ippudo, Japanese grubbing at Village Yokocho, and then ending the night with karaoke at Duets 35 with the above awesome photobomb by Mike.
Good seeing you Mike! Thanks for being a long time reader of this inane blog despite your busy doctor schedule of looking at penises all day. Congrats on the upcoming addition to the Lee family! Let me know next time you come to NYC to look at baby strollers.
Tim Etchells' "Please Come Back" is a perfect fit for my obsession with neon art and my occasional mess ups. This is such a rad piece.

I dig Freshwest's collapsing lazy chair.

Business Insider reports someone in Google's marketing team tweeted that bed bugs have been discovered at Google's New York office in Chelsea. And someone in the comments claimed that they were also found at AmEx's building which hits a little too close to my office. In case you missed it, here's a recent New York Times article about how researchers and scientists basically don't know what to do about these blood thirsty critters.

Robert Therrien's ginormous folding table and chairs. View these photos to get a sense of scale.
Andrew Lewicki's latest piece is this parabolic skateboard ramp titled "y=x²." (Previously)

Another great photo of director Akira Kurosawa looking so damn rad (previously).
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB6s-X05Irg&feature=player_embedded] Mario Troise's fan video for Mos Def's classic hit "Mathematics" reminds me a lot of Jonathan Hoefler's Cee-Lo music video.
I had a Sunday Funday this past weekend with Mariya after she dropped off at my apartment a new lamp that she picked up for me at IKEA a couple months ago (Thanks Mariya!).
In exchange for bringing the lamp, I bribed her with food. She chose Burger Joint. The burger doesn't look too tasty in the photo, but trust me: it's good.
Mariya's pained-looking expression makes it seem like I forced her to pose for this photo, but this was all her idea.
On our way to the park by the piers on the west side, I became distracted by this fountain. It was also 90-something degrees hot this day so this was the perfect way to cool off.
Mariya runs in as well.
"Mariya, put your face in the water." "OKAY!"
"I'm running in there again!"
I seriously couldn't get enough of the fountain. It was so fun. I remember once when I was approximately 11 years old, I got so distracted by this children's fountain at the Winter Palace (I believe) in St. Petersburg that I became quite lost from my mom. Pretty scary experience when you're 9 and worse, you're surrounded by a bunch of COMMIES. Joking.
And then we randomly bumped into Ayo at the park. This was him trying to give the illusion of levitating.
Fine, it's not the latest hack fix from Apple or AT&T. This is actually one prototype of many "acoustic listening devices developed for the Dutch army as part of air defense systems research between World Wars 1 and 2."
Fort Hood has one of the most gangsta street names ever with "Tank Destroyer Blvd." And on the other side of the spectrum there's the street I grew up on: Furrow Creek Road.
There are some other awesome street names mentioned in the comments over at Boing Boing.
I'd like to collect my $2000 and buy An Te Liu's life sized Monopoly House.
82 things you didn’t know about Andy Warhol. And if you did already know these, then good for you. Now go away.
19.Warhol said that he adopted his gray-haired look while in his 20s so that people would notice how young he looked in the face. 21. His mother often contributed artistically to Warhol’s paintings, and would sometimes sign them for him. 34. Warhol was the first artist to publicly exhibit video art. 48. Warhol collected taxidermy, and owned a stuffed lion, peacock, penguin, moose head, and a Great Dane, Cecil. 59. The IRS audited Warhol every year from 1972 until his death in 1987.

Went to Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday to visit my old college friends (now married), Storey and Ravi and their kid who is a finalist in the Cutest Kid Ever contest.
